This blend of tea is
named after Charles Grey, second Earl of Grey and Prime Minister of England
between the years 1830-1834, in whose period was abolished enslavement in the
British Kingdom. History says that Charles acquired a gift, a peculiar tea
flavored with oil of bergamot from a member of the aristocracy of the far East, often
cited as a Chinese mandarin or a King IndĂș, whose son was rescued from drowning by an army of Charles Grey.
The main characteristic
of Earl Grey is in flavour and aroma, it comes from oil extracted from the
peel of the bergamot, a fragrant citrus fruit that grows in the South of France
and Italy, described as a mixture of orange, lemon and grape.
